The Bloomington Housing Authority is serving the cities and communities of Bloomington, Monroe County, Ellettsville, Harrodsburg, Smithville Sanders and Stinesville.

The Bloomington Housing Authority Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list opened on October 3, 2017 at 12:00 pm, and will be open for an indefinite period of time.

The Bloomington Housing Authority will give a 5 day notice before the waitlist will close again.

Great news: You can APPLY for this Section 8 Waitlist ONLINE, using your computer or internet-connected mobile device.

This Section 8 waiting list is not accepting paper applications and only online enrollment is available. If you don’t have internet access at home, you can use a computer at any public library in your city and submit an application from there.

All applicants will be placed on the Bloomington Housing Authority 8 Housing Choice Voucher waitlist by date/time the waitlist application was received, as well as by preference points.

Preference points will be given to applicants who meet one or more of the following preferences: Monroe County Resident – 4 preference points; Resident of Surrounding County: Owen, Brown, Greene, Lawrence, Morgan – 3 preference points; Head of Household and Spouse, or Sole Member, is Either Elderly or Disabled – 2 preference points; Current Victim of Domestic Violence – 2 preference points; Working 35 Hours or More Per Week – 2 preference points; Any Member of Household is Disabled – 1 preference point; Current Member or Veteran of U.S. Military, or Surviving Spouse of a Veteran – 1 preference point; Working 20 to 34 Hours Per Week – 1 preference point.

Please don’t submit more than 1 waitlist application per Registrant – multiple applications will not be accepted.
