The Mankato and Blue Earth Development Authority Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list opened on April 8, 2019 at 12:00 am CT, and will be OPEN until April 8, 2020 at 12:00 am CT.

Please Note: After the waiting list was announced, the application portal stated that the Housing Choice Voucher program wait list is open ONLY to applicants with Residency in their service area.

This Section 8 waiting list IS accepting paper applications AS WELL as online enrollment. You can pick up the application at the MBECEDA office. If you don’t have internet access at home, you can use a computer at any public library in your city and submit an application from there.
If you need help in completing the application because of a disability or age, please make a request for a reasonable accommodation by calling the Mankato and Blue Earth Development Authority office at the following number: (507) 387-8600.
Those who apply will be selected to be placed on this Section 8 waitlist by the date and time the application is turned in, after sorting preferences (Head of Household/Spouse Who Live, Work, or Attend School in Blue Earth County, Disabled, Non-Elderly Disabled Households Who Live, Work, or Attend School in Blue Earth Brown, Dodge, Faribault, Fillmore, Freeborn, Goodhue, Houston, LeSueur, Martin, Mower, Nicollet, Olmsted, Rice, Sibley, Steele, Wabasha, Waseca, Watonwan, or Winona Counties of Southeast Minnesota, applicants with veteran status based on DD-214 discharge papers showing previous service, or at least 181 consecutive dates, or by reason of disability incurred while on active duty, applicant being displaced due to natural disaster or government action, applicant is being displaced due to domestic violence.
REMINDER: Please don’t submit more than 1 waitlist application per applicant – submitting multiple waiting list applications will NOT increase your chances of getting on the waitlist and might get you disqualified from being placed on the waitlist.
